Is there something more than we all know or imagine or describe which is yet to be discovered ?

It was April 19th when I had given a glimpse of sneak peek into my next blog in previous post "Oh Diamond! Diamond! Thou little knowest the mischief thou hast done". This instant, the clock on my system reads 12th of June 2009.What is the elapsed time in-between? Approximately 53 days!, which accounts to 1272 hrs, which can be described as a massive 76320 minutes, going one step further would make it humongous 4579200 secs..we can go on and on and on ..billionths of a second would read an astronomical 4579200000000000 nanosecs.... Where are we heading ? how long can we logically drill this down into further precession so that our senses can make some sense out of it ? Isn't it funny,I am dividing a quantity and the best word I came up was "Astronomical".Well do I see a universe at both ends here.... h-uh!!.

Questions like,How big is our universe? Does it end anywhere ? if it does, what is beyond it?..Is our universe a small entity on some other relatively huge universe where the size of our universe is inconsequential when it comes to measurement? Hopping to the other end of spectrum, how small can anything be?.. pico's and femto's? or there is something so small, say a particle of size "X,decimal followed by 1000's of zeros and a unity" to which an atom (that we humans think is considerably small) is as big as our universe? Could there be a life out there?I mean like some small universe there, which we may never ever discover? these question have fathomed me right from my childhood and I don't expect it to be answered convincingly any time soon.

As humans we may never get an answer to these questions,no matter how hard we try,no matter how determined we are, but we will keep looking for these answers which sets us apart from rest. These unanswered questions fractionally reduces the greatness of our human evolution as a supreme being to have walked and ruled the plant Earth albeit without knowing the limits of our own spatial confines....this makes me believe that "Yes,there is something more than we all know or imagine or describe which is yet to be discovered! not only in everytihng around us,but also in each one of us."

Oh Diamond! Diamond! Thou little knowest the mischief thou hast done!- These were the words Sir Issac Newton uttered when his pet, Diamond burned down his twenty years of research.Newton was calm and caring towards his dog .

It could be his inner strength,patience and humility towards his pet, but I feel it is because of the amazing relationship that we humans have with these dogs.

Times will never change, dogs and humans have been sharing a special bond for thousand of years and dogs simply don't stop to amaze us.

I don't have the luxury to say that it was summer of '69 ,but it was damn hot summer of 2009.I was walking on the road at about half past noon with sun beating down,along the shades of buildings and trees to a nearby store. All of a sudden I saw a mob gathered around a stray dog,badly injured and unable to stand.It was a sad sight,I got to know that the dog was hit on its head in some freak dog fight.It seemed all lost and I wondered the dog was in its last moments.

People rushed, brought some water and poured on it, some made frantic calls to a local vet,some brought ice slabs and started rubbing on it.Nearby store owners came running and were concerned about the stray dog's plight.The dog they just see everyday but none of them own,it had become a part of their lives.Each person had their own versions of pet name for the dog,people kept cheering the dog to stand and showed lot of affection.

The dog desperately tried to stand,but failed first up,to everyone's surprise got successful on the second try.I wondered,I shouldn't have called it a stray.It has so many well wishers.Its amazing what wonders the care and affection can do, the healing power it has.Everyone around started clapping.It was some sort of celebration in the middle, people got crazy and matched something similar to what happens when India pulls off an improbable win.It was a sight to behold and moment to treasure.

Simple things in life sometimes, brings so much of joy.The dog was back on its legs,wagging its tail ,the doggie was happy among the crowd.I got a bit nostalgic about the dog we had.It met a similar fate, but was not fortunate enough to see another day. Everytime I recollect the moments with my pet,it brings heaps of joy that has no ends.The way it used to communicate,its gestures,expressions and its presence.Anyway this particular episode ended on a happy note.

Whats happening
I had to be at Hollywood,CA at this point of time, but for this recession the project got on hold at the last moment and it's in for a bit of a delay.Recession has hit everyone's psyche these days, many wonder are we in for a great depression of 1930's.It's even got to the advertisements,Airtel making use of such a sober concept to pack it into a a wonderful, sugar coated, lovable and romantic Ad story featuring Viday Balan and Mahadavan in "प्यार में cutbacks नहीं होने चहियें" (In love there should not be any cutbacks).The Ad definitely brings smiles on everyone's face.So it all boils down to how you see it,aren't they seeing an opportunity in every difficulty.Frankly speaking , I don't see it has affected India that much, hope it stays that way.My spending never seems to stop and it's just increasing by the day.I did whole lot of shopping last month and that too just like that, just wanted to treat myself.I still see these shopping malls,complexes and markets buzzing and packed, albeit every stores have put discount hoardings.So what are you waiting for ?, go and grab the opportunity. Contribute your bit to drive away the budding recession.

Films I saw
13B - A very good movie.Nice murder mystery.
Ek - Some dubbed one,If you can digest some super-heroic stunts by a normal human being,go for it.
Fun and Masti (from the angrezz series) - A time pass comedy.

Alas February's over !

It was a strange feeling this February. Did I feel that the world around was in a state of Collapse or was it just my perception or was it "it's just me" who felt it that way or was it just a casual feeling that some big thunderstorm is brewing beneath.

Am I trying to write something that way just because I would love to write something like that...Only my inner soul would know it and the reasons for it?

A lot happened, but in reality nothing much to jot about, so it should be hard to culminate all the experiences that I had last month.


- There are lots of good things that can happen to anyone's life, but sometimes they don't ... and when it doesn’t the best way to accept it is to say "maybe we don’t deserve it".[General life thought]

- Timing is very important in life, a second, minute, day, month or a year doesn’t matter... when it gets late "it's late" that it. Sometimes you lose something and sometimes something loses you.. Some say that's the way of life. ". [General life thought/professional work related]

- People are judgmental they never give second thought. So take sides/decisions but be open to plethora of possibilities and accept that even "even you/your thoughts can be wrong". [Experiences after a general discussion]

- Be kind, never hurt. Try to understand what the other person is going through their life,Sometimes they cling on and believe to core to what they are going through. remember words are lethal. [Experiences after a general discussion]

- Everyone has an their own expectation, opinion, likes and dislikes...so respect it.[General life thought]

- Hope is a definitely a good thing, at the same time its bad to hope something too long that may never happen. Getting the right mix of hope and time is like a breakeven point of life.[General life thought]

- Never ever think that life has been unkind ...Just look around; There are lots of people who are so much unfortunate. Some still struggle for food, clothing and shelter. Try to make a donation for some good cause in whatever capacity you can.

- One more valentine's day passed, phew! and I am still single just like each and everyday of my life…. But anyway I did not loose sleep over it,thanks to work life stress that kept me preoccupied with it…

Life ka Funda thoda Jyada ho gaya.. likhna tha likh diya .. Maybe I would revisit this post someday and feel ,, "What was I thinking, was I being foolish/philosophical/sentimental...or whatever!!" but again does it really matter...?

Goa during rainy season !!

Everything was planned for 14th of August in advance " Itenerary to GOA".
Plan:Sajith,Ajith,Sunil,Kartik,Vinuthan and me.Go to Londa by train then catch a bus to Panjim before noon.

Execution had a huge offset from the plan though, first nature had it's say with heavy downpour in Bangalore leading to chaotic traffic jams everywhere. As if that was not enough, we made of mess of it by waiting for train at Yeshwantpur stop when Rani Chennamma express does not have a pickup stop there :-), it just slows down to 20km/hr. So we decided it was not worth taking risk to jump into a running train at slow speeds, that too on a slippery rainy day. Anyway I would never do that unless something like DDLJ happens in my life ;).

Then came Plan B , go to Anand Rao circle and look for some pirvate tourist bus to Goa. It was a boom time for taxi/auto, they got whatever fare they demanded on a busy rainy night with travellers everywhere trying to reach on time. Luckily we got a direct Volvo to Goa, the bus left almost at midnight , a troublesome 16 hrs saga infront of us.It rained quite a bit next morning,so it was not that bad as expected.It was a video coach saw two films back to back.Thoda Pyaar thoda Magic was good .. I do like kids stuff , while Money Hai Tho Honey Hai a complete bakwass.

We reached Panji,Goa at around 4pm on 15th of August.A travel agent came to us , we asked for a resort for six people, nearby calangute beach. Agent told that he has some sort of resort like cottage, with a beach view from balcony Joy Guest House, our eyes lit up. Just like our IT industry ,wherin the client never gets what they expect,the resort was almost upto our expectation but not quite :). It was not like a balcony facing the sea with warm sea breeze at us, but we had to look side on from our balcony to get a small two feet glimpse of sea horizon.

Got fresh , and set to calangute beach in a complete beach attire ,



just 100 steps from our cottage. I had a terrible headache by evening. Somehow I maganed to go to calangute shopping area, did some shopping,luckily got a pharmacy store and took a strong headache tablet. Dinner was at [Restaurant Name] , by the time we finished it was almsot 1 am. We took the sea beach route back to our cottage. It was an amazing experience to walk bare footed on calm deserted sea beach with sound of waves gushing past our ears, and it is much more fun to walk on the beach leaving our footprints, which would not last the dawn :), in fact footprints would be wiped with next high wave.

Saturday the 16th August: As planned , we woke up from the bed very early and set to beach. The dawn had already broken. Played on the steep sea shores for about an hour. We came back to room took a nice shower to get rid of sand trapped in our heads. Breakfast tasted too good after taxing hour in beach. Luxury was at highest priority, so we booked an open top Gypsy for entire day. We went to few beaches nearby, did some sea side shopping, colletables, hats, chains, shades, footwear, rangeela kurthas, fancy T-shirt- bermuda with Goa prints on it. We had lunch at [Restaurant Name] on the banks of dano paula.

The last item was Cruise, we booked a cruise for 6:15pm. The booking agent told its hardly two minutes walk, So we did not take Gypsy with us, only to find that it was good 15+ minutes walk to the boarding point. We missed 6:15 trip and managed to catch the next one at 7:00 pm. Cruise was good, it had two storeys, open to sky at top while dance floor on the lower one. Cruise went around for about 30 minutes. When it was over, we had to walk all the way back to parking point..:-(.

We headed back to our room on Gypsy and zoomed to Calangute, It was a fun drive back to room. We returned the Gypsy back to the travel agent by 10:30pm. Had dinner at [Restaurant Name]. The fun of walking on the beach at night was too good on previous day to miss again tonight, so we did it again :).

Sunday the 17th August: We woke up late , we did not have any plans as we anticipated a tiresome journey waiting for us. Packed our bags cleared the cottage dues. Took a bus to Ponda, then Ponda-->Belgaum. The journey from Ponda to Belgaum was the surprise, unexpected bonus!!!. The weather was very nice,cloudy and remains of previous night heavy rains was evident on the entire way back leaving us with a superb pleasant journey. Anmod Ghat was the highlight,beautiful scenery on either side of the road. We came across lot of small water falls on the curvy ghat sections. I could not resist and took the first seat in the bus. The turns in the ghat seem very dangerous when seen from the best seat of bus, it really scares at lot :). Managed to take few snaps from my Sony Ericsson's W 700i.

Reached belgaum by 5pm.Sunil left us from that point, he went to his home in Hubli. Five of us boarded the train at Belgaum. Chit chat for a while , then we had railway pantry served dinner. The train was jam packed, as expected everyone returning to Bengaluru for work and face Monday morning blues...So here I am....done with the draft version,Soon to post after spell check. Unfortunately there is no grammer check on sentance formation here :( .

Last but not least, few lesson learnt
- Always double check the boarding point/station and journey dates.

- If it rains in Bengaluru, plan to leave early to station.

- If you rent a vehicle in goa, see that it is yellow board and has proper valid permit/insurance/emmison documents etc.

- In goa when travel agent/booking agent say 2 min walk, it is almost certain to be more than 15 mins walk.

- Due to Ghat sections and bad roads[thanks to mining tippers], always have FOS on time estimates on way back,if you plan/desire to report on time to office on Monday.

Las vegas

No prizes for guessing for what we Indians do on a so called "LONG HOLIDAY" in US , that too a first timer like me in US.Someone said "err....how abt LV this thanks giving?",could I say NO ? .......No way.

Las Vegas - A Dream city

Sanjeev planned the itenerary , Madhu [sanjeev's friend] was ready with his SLR-Nikkon..with Tripod ... thats Great,..All we had to do was to pack our bags ,, too cute right ;).

So sanjeev came to pick us up @ GSB , was sharp as always!bye to Shiva and Shashank .. they did not come .. well they had been to LV . Raced [h-uh , u cant press the gas pedal over 35 mph in city] to Madhu's appartment, he brought Photography stuff ,,

All set , got2go2 Nevada .. we stopped at PETROL BUNK... correction .. We stopped at GAS STATION! [shh .. it was actually petrol bunk.. ].We entered .. one-O-one . edu uncle sam na country nalli dodda dodda highway ge FREEWAY anthare,Sanjeev starts in by lane , 60mph, lane-2 65mph and lane 3 70 mph.. zzzzzoooooommmm.

Eyebrows raised ? 70 mph and zzzzzoooooommmm?..!! its just 112kmph in our desi meter.

....The fun begins , we enter the FREEWAY ..,,sanjeev at the pilot[driver ;-0] seat.Madhu in front , Pradeep and me at the luxury of the rear portion of sedan. Anyone wants a reco for corolla ,, well its good , go for it. Conversations used to begin on one topic.. obvi ,, it was NOBODY's guess where it used to end..1 among 4 of us would come on some friendly banter.. else goobe or shiva or politics (come on we won't waste time on Indian or American politics , we are too practical..).... er sorry GOOBE, dont mind(shhh... not taken your name, so call me and thank dude!!).

The drive was nice and dry , dusk set in [plus dust] .. round about 10 PM , damn hungry , could not find any Indian hotel .. so stopped at .. umm some nth TACO BELL ... the moment I stepped out ,, zzup... it was cold ,,I quickly grabbed my Jacket. This was the first time I tried TACO. What I got was like RUMALI ROTI+thick RAJMA sabji rolled in some paper... it was mexican veggie actually,, it was not going down our throat :(.

Then Madhu introduced the term , "take FOOD PUSHERS!".... ah-a whats that ? its nothing but the same pepsi/coke/sprite taken so that these Pizza/rolls/burger etc etc ,, goes down the throat easily. Now I know why there is an obesity epidemic in few countires :-).We rushed back to inside of the car , it was so cold that we had to switch on the heater.. to keep us warm , ya it was damn cold! we again zoomed in some XYZ freeway.

Sanjeev got tired and it was madhu's turn to drive, me and pradeep had taken little cat naps till 10 , so it was our turn to keep the pilot (driver) awake,,uff pradeep was too tired for that job.I bravely took it, and took the front seat, sanjeev quietly slipped in back and started to take his well deserved nap.

There was no need of sleeping pills for Pradeep and Sanjeev to fall asleep , they started dozing instantly , it was all left to me to keep madhu awake , ha ha .. I hardly knew him before the trip , but we got along well. Madhu drove on and on and on , I kept chatting , light music went on and on..

It was all fine till 2:45 AM ... we were almost near the destination , my throat was getting dry , my eyelids were pulling down , could not even streach for the water bottle on the dashboard,,was just noding to what madhu was telling ,,,well at that point I remembered my ENGINEERING exams previous day preps , sleep seems to be the world's greatest assest at that instant, then finally and I faltered , maybe 10 seconds or so , Madhu did'nt quite observe it. Sanjeev and Pradeep woke up, energy levels raised again , about 10 miles b4 LV, you can make out that u are entering LV.The lights are so bright. It was sight to watch, No explanations, the pics will do the rest for you , for pics scroll down we have 100 plus AWSOME snaps.The roads were crowded , it was 3:30 AM and it was freaking full people on the road..well thats LV , as they say.

We went to imeperial palace , our stay was booked there , parked the car and went straight to lobby , collected the room keys, went up the lift, opened the room fell flat on the bed ZZZZZzzzzzz ZZZZZzzzzzz ZZZZZzzzzzz.......

I was almost sunk inside the bed , it was atleast 1 feet deep mattrice , was it 1 ft ? just kidding , but it was comfortable though.. ;).Got a call in the morning ,???? .. it was from the adjacent room ..:) Sanjeev , just a gave us a wake up call at 11 AM ,, to get ready.

Qurater past 1 , we came to the casino lobby, had few snacks, then the GAME began .. Had come all the way from Mountain View to LV , had to bet somethin there ,,, I had made few notes on black jack and other games ,,my initial target ,, put 100$ , if it reduces to ZERO ,, leave it.

It so happened that in the very first black jack table I sat, I was the only one , the dealer was kind enough to explain that game was simple enough ,, He who was giving me tips when to stand and stay in the game or increase the bets,, well 10$ increased and I started making profits ,, made around 80$ in 6-7 games , by this time another guy joined the table ... he started staring at me as if I was a punter !! .. humm it just clicked without my knoweledge , then came anathor joker/dealer ,,

He did not give hints nor did he give me sufficient time to think , I lost 30$ ,, so I thought it was wise to make 40$ profit and exit from table ,,, I made a move on. Then tried my hands at 3 card poker.. made some 30-40$ profit,, next in Roulette ,, lost some 20$.. then came the jackpot in wheel of fortune ,, took a 5$ bill and started pulling the lever monotonously - 25 cents every pull :-(,, it was fast reducing , only 75 cents was remaining of initial 5$ amount ,, and I struck gold ,, won 25$ and then had to spin the wheel at top ,, for the multiplicaiton factor ,, the wheel was filled with 1's , little 2's,fewer 4's ,,, :). ,, I spun the wheel ,, [it was with a button ,,,] ,, my golden touch that day give me 25.75 X 4 ,, got around 104..as prize in a slip , went to the cash counter , showed the prize slip , and collected cool 100$ bill plus some change,,, ;) lucky me ,,,, I become rich by about 260$ in total ,then I gave a break and started to enjoy LV ,, I stopped any further gambling ,, I never knew that , it was last time lady luck shone on me ,,, :(.

After food , we went across the LV strip (its like actually the main road of Vegas where all the casinos are there), to many casino's,I started to play again .. lost around 50$ , then decided not to play anymore,,and be happy with 210$ profit,, the day went by we visited the following casino's

stopped at thamba for dinner ,,, Indians were overflowing in that hotel ,, and all of a sudden I could feel our very own , sweet Shanti sagar atmosphere inside the hotel ,, sounds of spoon and plates, people talking at one corner , could be heard at another corner ,, Indians really live their life king size ,, I luv it .

It was a buffet ,, idli,sambhar,uppma,roti,gobi,etc etc ,, it was like some marriage buffet there ,, :). set out ot road again at 10 (obviously PM) ,, visited few more casino's .. roamed around till 2 AM ,, went to our hotel's disco/pub ,, nothing special ,, we hardly spent 10 mins and pushed off ,,Sanjeev and Madhu went to room ,, me and pradeep went out agian for some more adventures ,,It was nice LV was glittering as gold at night, LV was at its best , even at 4AM , crowded roads ,, it was really a night to remember ,,we hit the bed again at 4 AM ,,second day trot.

The same routine , next day , played few games ,, agian lost 50$ , so I decided not to play more,,profit of $150 is good enough,, so did not play anymore ,,pradeep told about the famous saying "The house always wins, in the end". Had I played more, I would have come out losing money.

First they spray the background , use paper/cardboard as blocker when they spray second color coat and so on ,, once all the layers are done , they use a metal peice to give sharp edges , use paper as brush .. sorry can't explain..If you happen to visit Fremont street, catch a glimpse of this art live.

World's tallest thermometer , well I wasen't feelin sick.

The artifical ceiling in venition which gives a morning blue sky look inside shopping area , european style architect in ceasers palace, Luxors pyramid and guarding sphinx, Effiel tower and Paris , New york's statue of liberty and Brooklyn bridge miniatures,MGM lions, the posh bellagio, legendary Casino Royale,madamme tussades and many more. All these make LV a trip to remember.

The stand out being Bellagio musical fountain , it a beautifull show every half an hour , the musical highs and lows syncing with the dancing fountain ,,a pretty sight , ya I call it dancing fountain.The other nice experience is the Freemont street show. Its an electronic display on a umberella kind of screen over the Freemont street over the entire length.

The Final day we went to Stratosphere , tallest free-standing structure in Nevada. The Stratosphere tower is 1149ft tall .Obeservation point and a revolving restaurant at the top make this an absolute must. Yes , that the reason we had to wait for more than an 1 and half hours in queue to reach the top. Once we were at the top , it was a real sight , could see LV like a bird, LV in the morning does not look as great as it is at the night , well it does not glitter ..:).

We enjoyed the Big Shot - its a kind of free fall drop at a great acceleration.Litrally when it drops you feel the g force so much that you doubt if the heart and lungs have got misplaced ..;). Next enjoyed the X Scream , it looked scary but was not that much though. Its somtheing like a car with seats that rocks over the edge , while it swings up and down too .. maybe I was sitting at thrid row so did not feel it to be that scary. Missed on Insanity ride , were getting late . Got down the super fast elevator , went to room checked out. Started the long journey back , clicked few snaps of LV from inside of the car , hmm first time in daylight we could see how such a beautifull city is located in the heart of a desert . It was a silent drive back , all of were little tired , we did not want to be late , so drove without break.It was getting dark , the location gave us a golden opportunity to take Sun set pictures ,, clicked a bunch full of sun set pics.:)

we stopped at some shop to have some refreshments.We searched for some hotel via GPS , it showned some Punjabi restaurant in Bakersfield , we drove on and on as per GPS , It said "You have arrived at the location", only to find that we were directed to some remote residential location where there were no shops let alone restaurants :), maybe the maps were not updated correctly. It was late already , we came back to the main city , managed to sneak into one indian restaurant just b4 closing, had a nice dinner.

The journey was getting tiresome by now ,,we had another 2-3 hrs , I guess. I slept from then on.Finally readched home , we dropped Madhu to his appartment , then came to our sweet sweet Homestead studio suites . Sanjeev was too tired to go to San Rafael , California .He planned to stay with us. We came to room after a tired tirp , went to showers , had hot cup of coffee and we hit the bed like never before dozing immediately ,, Again no prizes for guessing what we did on sunday .......... "SLEPT ALL DAY"
